Katie's Cottage

Introduction

We have three self catering cottages, all converted from old Cornish stone farm buildings. All three have two bedrooms sleeping four or five people. katie's Cottage has an accessibility rating of M1 and Bramble Byre and Dairy Dell have accessibility ratings of M3a.
Please read the following statement of our provision and contact us personally if anything is unclear.

Pre-Arrival

  • We have a website that gives you details of the accommodation and facilities that we offer. (detail below).
  • The main train station is Liskeard, 8 miles from the farm.
  • There is no public transport available to the farm, although there are several local taxis, the nearest at Pelynt 2 miles away.
  • The nearest shops are at Pelynt, 2 miles away. Access is good at the Spa mini supermarket.
  • There are a large variety of restaurants with good accessibility in the local area.
  • There is a good equipment hire company in St Austell. Details are on the website accessibility page.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

  • There is plenty of parking space outside the cottage, on a tarmac driveway. The area is level making the unloading of wheelchairs and luggage, easy.
  • There is adequate lighting outside the cottages.

  • The entrance door into the cottage has a small threshold.
  • The doors are 33.5ins wide.

Public Areas - General (Internal)

  • The sitting room/ kitchen areas are level and have plenty of space.
  • The furniture is free standing.
  • The floors are carpeted in short pile carpet.
  • Television, DVD and video players and radios.
  • Pay phones in each cottage.

Public Areas - WC

  • Toilet in the bathroom. Also a separate toilet with wash hand basin
  • The swimming pool has a toilet.

  • Home produced veal, cheese, eggs and milk are available to purchase on the farm.

Leisure Facilities

  • We have an indoor heated swimming pool available for our B&B and holiday cottage guests only. There is also a baby pool and a spa bath available in the same building.

  • Katie's cottage has a large patio area with garden furniture and BBQ.
  • Large play area with trampoline, climbing frame and wendy house.
  • Extensive lawned area for ball games etc.
  • Garden furniture placed in quiet areas in the garden.
  • Walks around certain areas of the farm.

Bedrooms

  • katie's Cottage has two bedrooms.
  • One double bedded room on the ground floor.
  • One twin bedroom on the first floor. It has a vanity unit. Accessed up a flight of 13 stairs. Each stair is 31ins wide, 8ins high and 9ins deep. The staircase opens into the bedroom. A child gate is available on request, for children under 24 months.
  • Both bedrooms are carpeted.
  • Cots are available on request.
  • Free standing long mirrors.

Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [Ensuite or Shared]

  • Bathroom on ground floor.
  • Level floored shower area with wall fixed shower seat.
  • Small bath. Height for side entry 55cm.
  • Large wheel under wash hand basin.
  • Raised toilet for easy access from wheelchairs.
  • All necessary hand rails are fitted.
  • Special non slip flooring.
  • Separate toilet room with standard height toilet and wash hand basin.

Self-Catering Kitchen

  • The fitted kitchen is well equipped. Conventional oven and microwave. Fridge freezer. Washing machine and tumble dryer. Small worktop dishwashing machine.

Grounds and Gardens

  • Extensive gardens with large lawn areas for games and exclusive areas for quiet moments.

  • Guests can watch the farm activities and walk on the land owned by the proprietors, subject to permission at the time.
